Supply
The wood for your furniture costs between 30 and 50% of the total production price. It is certified and comes from forests near you.
Maker
Your MAKER is paid at the hourly rate defined by theSwiss Carpenters' Associationor CHF 122.00 per hour excluding VAT.
The price of the wood and the MAKER's work give the production price, from which we take our margin and the designer's royalties.
iWood
Our margin varies between 25% and 45% of the production price and covers our product catalog development costs, MAKERS network development, marketing investments and after-sales service management. Why the variation between 25% and 45%? We have decided to apply a small margin to the less expensive items to make them accessible to the widest possible audience.
For your information, our competitors apply margins varying between 300% and 700% of the production price. Because we produce to order - no discounts on large wood orders - pay your local MAKER fairly, and apply high social and environmental standards, we've decided to work with low margins to stay competitive and offer you a truly local, sustainable and transparent alternative.
Designers
They earn 5% in royalties on each piece sold, as is customary in the design world.
VAT
It is 7.7%. Did you know that this tax represents more than 30% of Switzerland's revenue ?
Stripe
This commission is relatively high. As a web player, we can't do without it. But we're looking for an alternative that's just as effective, cheaper and more active in sustainable financing. If you have any ideas, please contact us!
